Project Challenges & Solutions
The Challenge
This project in River, near Dover, involved the complete transformation of an ageing, damaged concrete driveway that had become both unsightly and impractical. The existing driveway was split across two tiers, with deteriorating concrete, poor drainage, and unstable surfaces creating safety concerns and limiting usability. Years of wear had left the structure cracked and uneven, while the outdated layout no longer met the needs of the property.
Additionally, the tiered design presented logistical challenges. Any upgrade required careful planning to ensure structural integrity between levels, improve access, and create a cohesive, modern appearance that complemented the property.
Our Solution
Macavis carried out a full-scale redevelopment, starting with the complete removal of all existing concrete and materials to provide a clean slate. This allowed us to address underlying structural issues and rebuild from strong, reliable foundations.
New, high-quality foundations were installed to ensure long-term durability and proper load-bearing across both tiers. The driveway was then completely reimagined and constructed into a striking, modern two-tier layout, designed for both functionality and visual appeal.
To enhance accessibility and safety, we incorporated a newly designed stepped entrance, seamlessly connecting the levels while improving ease of movement. Complementary fencing was also installed, adding definition, security, and a polished finish to the overall space.
Testimonial
“We couldn’t be happier with the transformation Macavis delivered. Our old driveway was in a terrible state — cracked, uneven, and completely outdated — and we honestly didn’t think it could be turned into something this impressive."
