Sharp Sand
Sharp sand is coarse, angular sand with 0-5mm particle size ideal for concrete production, floor screeds, and paving applications. Provides excellent compressive strength and binding properties for construction projects across Kent. Also known as grit sand or concreting sand.
Sharp Sand – Premium Concreting & Screed Material
Sharp sand features angular particles from 0-5mm providing superior strength characteristics compared to softer sands. Essential ingredient for concrete mixes, floor screeds, laying paving slabs, and bedding drainage pipes. Washed and graded to BS EN 12620 specification for consistent quality.

Concrete Production
Sharp sand forms the fine aggregate component in concrete mixes. Angular particles interlock with cement and coarse aggregate (gravel or stone) to create strong, durable concrete for foundations, floor slabs, and structural applications. Typical ratio 1 cement : 2 sharp sand : 4 gravel.

Floor Screeds
Screed mixes for levelling concrete floors use sharp sand combined with cement in ratios from 3:1 to 5:1 depending on application. Angular particles create strong, level surface suitable for floor finishes. Essential for domestic and commercial floor preparation across Kent.

Paving Bedding
Sharp sand mixed with cement creates mortar bed for laying paving slabs, natural stone, and porcelain tiles. Compacts firmly beneath slabs whilst allowing minor levelling adjustments during installation. Superior to building sand for exterior paving applications requiring strength.

Concrete Production
Bedding and surrounding drainage pipes requires sharp sand for stability and support. Free-draining characteristics combined with compaction properties make it ideal for trench works, manholes, and drainage installations. Conforms to appropriate specifications for highways drainage.
