New Driveway in Folkestone
The Project
The Challenge
Installing a new tarmac driveway in Folkestone presented a number of site-specific challenges. The existing ground conditions were uneven and required significant preparation to ensure a stable, long-lasting surface. Additionally, the project called for a visually appealing finish, combining a durable tarmac driveway with an adjacent 20mm decorative Ragstone area to enhance the front of the property.
Another key consideration was effective drainage. Like many properties in the area, managing surface water runoff was essential to prevent pooling and to comply with UK drainage regulations. Achieving a seamless transition between the tarmac and decorative stone without compromising structural integrity or appearance also required careful planning.
Our Solution
To address these challenges, we began with a full excavation of the existing surface, removing unsuitable materials and creating a solid foundation. A high-quality sub-base was installed and compacted to ensure durability and prevent future movement or sinking.
For drainage, we incorporated appropriate falls and, where necessary, installed drainage solutions to direct water away from the property, ensuring compliance and long-term performance.
The tarmac driveway was then professionally laid and machine-finished to achieve a smooth, hard-wearing surface suitable for daily use. Alongside this, we installed a 20mm decorative Ragstone area to the front of the house, carefully edged to create a clean and defined boundary between materials.
The combination of robust construction techniques and attention to detail resulted in a driveway that is not only practical and long-lasting but also enhances the overall kerb appeal of the property.

Testimonial
“We’re absolutely delighted with our new driveway. From the very beginning, the team were professional, reliable, and clearly took pride in their work. The transformation is incredible — the tarmac finish looks smooth and high-quality, and the decorative Ragstone at the front of the house really sets it off beautifully."
