1. Working Within a Live Farm Environment
Challenge: The farm remained fully operational throughout the works, with constant movement of livestock, machinery, and staff creating logistical and safety challenges.
Solution: Our team carefully phased the works and coordinated closely with the client to minimise disruption. Clear segregation zones and strict health & safety controls ensured the farm could continue operating safely and efficiently.

2. Durability for Heavy Plant & Livestock
Challenge: The new concrete floor needed to withstand continuous heavy loads from agricultural machinery as well as daily wear from livestock.
Solution: We designed and installed a high-strength, reinforced concrete mix tailored for agricultural use, providing excellent load-bearing capacity and long-term durability under demanding conditions.

3. Surface Finish for Animal Welfare
Challenge: The surface needed to provide sufficient grip for animals while remaining easy to clean and maintain.
Solution: A specialist brushed and textured finish was applied to create a non-slip surface, improving safety for livestock while also allowing for efficient wash-down and hygiene management.

4. Ground Preparation & Stability
Challenge: Farm ground conditions can often be uneven or contaminated, risking long-term movement or cracking of the slab.
Solution: We carried out thorough ground preparation, including excavation, compaction, and installation of a suitable sub-base to ensure a stable and long-lasting foundation.

5. Drainage & Waste Management
Challenge: Effective drainage was essential to manage water, waste, and cleaning runoff in a farm environment.
Solution: The slab was designed with precise falls and integrated drainage solutions to ensure efficient water runoff and maintain a clean, safe working area.
